SPECIAL EVENTS 2007

The church presented Martha Vetitoe roses in recognition of her Ordination. 2007

Easter Sunday was a day to fellowship together with our church family. We had a church dinner and egg hunt for the kids.
Our church had a very special patriotic service on the 1st of July. Rev. Jay Walthour of Georgia presented the message to us and the Miller Family sang for us that day. It was a blessing to all who were there, they all did a great job and everyone enjoyed the service. There was a great church dinner following the service at the Monterey Community Center. We had 50 in attendance at church that Sunday.
 Pastor Appreciation Day 2007
A "surprise" Pastor Appreciation Day was held September 30, 2007 for Rev. David and Ruth Cobb. We had 66 in attendance for the Morning Worship Service.
The Cobb's were presented gifts, roses and a love offering from the church. Their family came that day and surprised them also.
The Cobb's are very special to our church and we appreciate them so very much.
On October 21, 2007, not only was this Old Fashioned Day, but it was also the day when we celebrated the church's 70th Anniversary. There was 85 in attendance for the Morning Worship Service.
David and Ruth are great grandparents. (2007)
We want to thank everyone who had a part in helping with the Church's 70th Anniversary Cookbook. We had 350 recipes in our cookbook and sold 400 cookbooks! We still have a few extras if anyone would like one.
KIDS AND ADULTS BOTH HAD A LOT OF FUN AT THE RECENT BOWLING TRIP. BOWLING TRIP 2007
We had 41 on Sunday, December 2 and our Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner followed the service at the Monterey Community Center. Tina was honored on this day with an Appreciation Money Tree and Roses for all of her work in the church.
The church went Christmas caroling on December 20th 2007. We all got together and made 10 fruit baskets for different ones and 70 treat bags for Sunday night to give out at the Christmas program. We caroled at 5 different places that night, singing Joy To the World, Away in a Manger, Silent Night and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. After that we went to the Dairy Queen for supper.
Please keep the folks we visited during the Christmas Caroling in your prayers.
The Christmas program was Sunday, December 23, 2007 at 6pm. We also had refreshments after the program. It was "spitting" snow earlier in the day, but it stopped by the Christmas program. We had 80 in attendance.
The kids did a wonderful job that night and we are all very proud of them! Special thanks to the kids and all who helped behind the scenes with the Christmas program.
